SKANDIS is a task chair designed for the home office, combining a restrained, residential aesthetic with advanced ergonomic performance through an adaptive lumbar support mechanism.
The design is based on a proven and efficient component architecture, reinterpreted through a clear formal concept and translated into a contemporary design language. Reduced and transparent in appearance, the chair nevertheless maintains a distinct spatial presence. A semi-transparent mesh back, defined by two carefully balanced mesh densities, lends visual lightness, while the harmonious overall form conveys the impression of a fully supportive and comfortable volume. This creates a balanced hybrid aesthetic that mediates between openness and a sense of stability. The lumbar support element is integrated into the back structure and utilizes its geometry to provide flexible, load-distributing support. As a key functional feature, it remains visually discreet while delivering precise ergonomic performance. The solution demonstrates constructive clarity, uniting ergonomic functionality with structural efficiency. The result is a versatile, accessible seating solution for modern working environments.
